See the tree,
So tall and proud,
Hear the thunder,
So very loud,
Feel the lightning,
Watch it flash,
To the ground,
The tree does crash,
See the fire,
Watch it spark,
Blackening the wood,
And burning the bark,
Hear the tree groan,
As the fire does rage,
Trapped and alone,
In this torturous cage,
Feel the rain,
From the sky it does drop,
Calming the flames,
With each small plop,
See the smoke,
Rise into the air,
To the poor tree,
Life hardly seems fair,
Lifeless and gray,
The tree is left broken,
On the ashen ground,
Sadness unspoken
